My father promised me an heirloom piece with some walnut that he acquired from one of his properties. Before my parents left for their voyage, I asked my dad to help me build a wine cabinet from the walnut.
I was inspired by a wine cabinet display I saw in a restaurant and decided that I could make one better. The basic idea was to display the bottles sideways so that you could see the labels. It also happens to look much cooler than the conventional rack.
The entire wine cabinet is hand crafted and designed by my father and I. Mostly my design, but it would have been impossible without my father's experience and knowledge.
It holds 24 bottles of wine, 2 across by 3 deep on 4 racks. It also can store 12 wine glasses. The cabinet below has a 4" high drawer and a storage cabinet.
The cabinet is 100% solid walnut, except for the floating veneered panels and glass.
